Linköping University (LiU) is renowned for its innovative educational spirit and longstanding tradition of cross-disciplinary studies and research. Research and undergraduate education are characterised by a relationship-driven dialogue between LiU, on the one hand, and its local business sector and community at large on the other. Each year, more than 700 foreign students attend classes at LiU, while over 100 guest researchers a year benefit from the stimulating research environment and the growing number of international students.
LiU has its educational roots in the late 1960s. It acquired full university status in 1975, and is now one of Sweden’s larger academic institutions. LiU has three campuses: Campus Valla, the main site; Campus US, with the Faculty of Health Sciences; and Campus Norrköping, LiU’s second home, 40 kilometres from Linköping.
