Research at the Faculty of Science at Lund University (LU) includes much basic research in a variety of fields and disciplines, from Molecular to Ecological Systems and from Biospheric Studies to Astronomy and High Energy Physics (Particle Physics).
The faculty offers 15 undergraduate studies in all major scientific disciplines and 13 postgraduate programmes. It gives priority to career openings for excellent young postdoctoral students.
LU is located in ‘Medicon Valley’, a cluster of companies working in Biomedicine and Information Technology are gathered. Accordingly, there is close collaboration between the University and these companies.
The following research fields excel in terms of publication impact, power to attract research funding, international profile and research quality:
- Geobiosphere Science
- Ecology
- Biology
- Computational Biology
- High Energy Physics
- Synchroton Radiation Physics and Accelerator Physics
- Surface and Colloid Chemistry
