Örebro University is a discipline-based university that fosters multidisciplinary research. The Department of Science contains two interdisciplinary research groups, in Life Science and Man–Technology–Environment. Advanced scientific training and research are offered in Biology, Environmental Science, Chemistry and Physics.
Founded in 1999, Örebro University has modern buildings and provides an excellent multidisciplinary study environment. Its lecture halls, laboratories, library, reading and computer rooms, bookstore, cafés and restaurants are all sited on the central campus, measuring 95,000 m2. This campus is situated in the city of Örebro, where the University actively participates in regional development of the region and maintains strong contacts with the business sector and the community.
In addition, there are three regional campuses; in Grythyttan (where the Department of Culinary Arts and Meal Science is located), Kopparberg and Karlskoga (‘Campus Alfred Nobel’).
