What's next?

June of 2011 and I will be finished with my master program in Environmental Chemistry, but what's next? Since a few months ago most of us have started to wonder already what we will do with our new degree. Options? Get a PhD position, get a job, work as a volunteer for Doctors without borders :) etc. Getting a PhD position seems to me to be the most feasible option, considering that the language spoken at this scientific circle is english and provided that the education that we have received is very specialized and adequate to work in front line research. In fact that is the reason I need to be very careful with the second option, since I believe I shouldn't waste the capabilities acquired. Finding the right job comes to my mind now, and a very important question Where? I didn´t ...

YUHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

I am in the library getting ready for the presentation I have tomorrow. You know, our library’s walls are in glass, so we can see outside easily. As I was completely drawn in the books (!!!!) suddenly I remembered the weblog. So now, I’m here with you. Let me tell you something. Right now, here in Karlstad, the temperature is +5 °C. Isn’t it great? Although it is a bit cold outside and I can see the snow all around me, still something shows me the way out and asks me to go for a walk. Do you know what it is? CALLENDER!!!! Yes, spring started today officially. J In some parts I can see the grass but not fresh grass; actually it is the frozen grass which has been buried under the snow for some months. Still I consider it as a sign of spring. So maybe I finish ...

Trust yourself, you can

Last night I left the university at 12:00 AM!!!! Yes, at 12. I was really tired. Actually, every night I almost have the same situation. It is near the final exams of the third quarter and I have to study hard. As my friend – Nasrin – said in the previous post, it is our new year. Unfortunately, I don’t have any time to celebrate it with other Iranian people here and it would be really difficult for me to stay alone at home with the books around me while I know my friends are celebrating. L Do not think that I am the only person who has this problem. Some other friends of mine are like me. It depends on the date of your exam. Unfortunately, my exams interfere with our new year. One thing else; it is not only related to Iranians. Many students here will find some ...

second year of celebrating beginning spring and Persian new year by my own...missing home but still fine ;)

This is the last Sunday of the winter and the spring officially will start next week in 21th of March.  Here there are not blossoms on trees yet but the birds sang and there is no sign of wintery weather any more. And these days I miss my home town little bit more that now is covered by flowers greenness. Maybe one reason is that I am tired because of school stuff and a little frustrated for finding a job. And there is absolutely another reason! ..I am from Iran our New Year celebration which is called “Norouz” is the first day of the spring.  And this event is one the events that you will miss your family the most. Family members’ gatherings and celebrating New Year with friends and relatives altogether are most important traditions for our new year. ...

Finding job here is not a piece of cake!

Hej hej !  To practice Swedish, maybe it`s the first thing that you learn hearing it in a friendly and smooth way in streets, shops and everywhere meaning “Hey” or “Hi”… I can’t stop smiling whenever I someone in Sweden says Hej hej to me J. Today I started a day saying hej hej in the mirror to start my work s with a good mood and as positive as possible. These days my time and mind are both busy with job searching and application for different companies and unfortunately all of my efforts and searches have been useless till now. Since I am here in summer time I am trying to find a summer job at that time and even if possible to find a permanent job after summer and my graduation in August. But you know what?... It`s difficult ... very ...
