Karlstad University is a young and modern university, and one of our main objectives is to focus on cooperation with business and public services, as well as maintaining a high standard of education.
Our ambition is to become one of the most active universities in Europe, in terms of cooperation with society as a whole. Cooperation with universities outside Europe is also of great importance, and the university has agreements with institutions in many countries including the US, Canada, Australia, Japan, India, South Africa, Korea and China, and in Latin America. We are an active member of the International Student Exchange Program (ISEP) and of the European University Association (EUA).
To meet the demands of a future society aiming a sustainable development, much of the scientific research carried out is multidisciplinary.
Our ambition is to develop strong profiles which include pulp, paper and surface treatment, printing technology, packaging, environmental research tool materials, applied modelling, education, computer science, communications and services.
The research at Karlstad University also contributes towards raising the quality of our education, and the students come into contact with the latest research results.
