Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences

Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences

SLU is one of Sweden’s most research intensive universities - almost 70 per cent of our work is in research. At the university we develop knowledge, skills and know-how in the field of biological natural resources and biological production.

Thanks to our research, SLU can offer students a wide range of Master's programmes in unique fields. You will have numerous opportunities for interesting in-depth studies and specializations.
Understanding the life processes of plants, animals and microbes is an essential element in our use of nature. SLU is responsible for almost one third of all biological research in Sweden. Our training spans a broad spectrum and our Master’s programmes are based on SLU’s strengths and profile areas. Animal science, landscape architecture, biotechnology and environmental economics are just a few examples.

The education is diverse and you can study both natural or social sciences and how they relate to biological natural resources. Our courses are adapted to the European educational system, which makes it easy for our students to study abroad, for our international students to study here and it prepares them for a growing international labour market.

Last but not least, SLU is one of Sweden’s universities with the highest proportion of PhD-lecturers per student. The university is also number one when it comes to the percentage of students moving on to postgraduate research. All of this has made SLU one of the top-ranked universities in Sweden.
